Imagine. You just signed the lease on the building for your new business and 3 days later, the country shuts down for 3 months. That’s what happened to Mr. Raymond Brooks and his barbershop. He is grateful for an understanding landlord and is glad to be back. He chose this location because of increased foot traffic and other businesses in the area.

He wanted to work for himself and credits his instructor and also Elite and Jerry’s as mentors and inspiration for this venture. He’s up and running, and every day is a new challenge and different. This is what keeps each day interesting. He sees his business as a way to give back to the community. His barbershop academy can give young people a skill that once mastered can never be lost. Barber school includes classroom time, practical time and once the course is completed and passed, students may then take a state written exam and practical in order to be licensed.

If you or someone you know is interested in learning to be a barber, he is currently taking applications. Pick up the info and application at 7979 King’s Highway, King George, VA.

I really appreciated the time Mr. Brooks took to show me his shop and academy set up. He specializes in fades, tapers and shaves. Mr. Brooks believes that you don’t need to go to Fredericksburg to get a quality haircut. So if you are looking for that special cut, come check out BrooksDaBarber. Make an appt.
