Belle Grove Plantation is a Virginia Landmark and the birthplace of President James Madison. Since 1670 Belle Grove has seen a lot of history. We are fortunate to have an opportunity to step back in time and see another era. The central part of the house (built over the original house) was built in 1790 and has been added to over the years. It has been on the National Register of Historic Homes since 1974.

The Haas Corporation purchased the property in 1987 and began restoring the house in 1997. The house and the grounds are beautiful. Belle Grove is a bed and breakfast venue and has 4 beautifully decorated suites named for various owners and President Madison. It is run by Brett and Michelle Darnell, with tours and teas and special events scheduled all year long. Would you love to spend the night in an historic venue?
