Visit a historical place in King George
Start your day by visiting the Belle Grove Plantation Bed & Breakfast, the birthplace of James Madison. This historic landmark offers guided tours that connect you directly to the roots of the nation.

Find the wooden tractor at Gardening Gays Farm
After your historical immersion, head down Route 301 to Gardening Gays Farm for seasonal produce, fresh eggs, local honey, or unique handmade goods.

Find Bigfoot at Unique Antiques Mall
Not far down the road, find the Bigfoot sign outside Unique Antiques Mall. While there, shop over 100 vendors. Before you take the U-turn to the mall, be sure to stop in at Terry’s Treasures Beads & Jewelry!

Tour the King George Museum or Dahlgren Heritage Museum
Head further down James Madison Parkway to Dahlgren Heritage Museum. Stop for a snack along the way in Dahlgren with a lot of fare options. When you arrrive to the museum, enjoy learning more about naval history.

Watch a sunrise/sunset at a boat landing or Wayside Park
Hop nextdoor to the museum and watch the sunset from Wayside Park. Get there early enough, and rent a kayak to paddle along the Potomac.
