Grand Opening of BackPorch Vineyard

Sep 28, 2020 | Tourism, Travel

The Back Porch Vineyard opened on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at noon. There was music, food and wine tasting. Grand opening was on September 19th at noon. The owners Lorrie and Rick Gump and Sherrie Spillman, were joined by friends, family and advisors… and Larry Freeman. Also attending the ribbon cutting  were supervisors Cathy Binder, Richard Grainger and Jeffrey Stonehill. Come check out the venue as it can accommodate parties and weddings with plenty of space for social distancing.  Relax on the porch, walk out to the gazebo and just enjoy a lovely day in the country.

They are currently growing 3 types of grapes. Each grape has a unique taste. The Chambourcin grape is delicious and so is the wine. Rick and Lorrie are collaborating with other vineyards to get the best from their grapes.  Check out the red oak interior. It is beautiful and came from the local area. Make sure to ask about how the two wines Freeman’s Red and Angela’s Flock got their names. The hours are Fridays 4-8 pm  and Saturday 12-6 pm. Check their website for special events. https://backporchvineyard.com
